Event Description:
Join the Serving Our Neighbors team as we continue to fulfill Isaiah 58 by “Raising Up Leaders & Building Better Bridges to Transform Our Communities.”
Throughout 2020, we were able to:
- Continue our weekly Saturday morning SWAT (See What Agreement Transforms) Prayerwalks in downtown Portland (for 5+ years) & now on ZOOM, as we are agreeing with God to continue transforming our communities for His Kingdom & Glory!
- Support the launch of a new non-profit radio station ministry, Worship 24/7 that is now being listened to (via the app and online) in more than 153 nations around the world, as well as on-air in Central Oregon on 93.7 FM, in Tacoma on 104.9 FM and every day 100+ people are enabling Worship 24/7 on their Alexa devices in homes, offices and cars around the world.
- Support the Helping Hands Reentry Outreach Centers to transform the never used Multnomah County Wapato Corrections Facility in North Portland into the new Bybee Lakes Hope Center, a 500 bed facility for transitioning the unsheltered & homeless back into our communities, wherein we are now representing the faith community on their new Advisory Board & also helped them to raise more $400,000 for their ministry via coordinating their first virtual fundraiser, I Believe In HOPE.
- Support the BESThq business collaborative community with their Tuesday Morning Executive Briefings, their quarterly Networking with Purpose gatherings & their annual Business Expo West at Tektronix in Beaverton, as well as help them with their work in raising at least $250,000 (towards their $1.75 million budget to transform Maupin, Oregon with a new world-class track & field) via coordinating their first virtual fundraiser, Let’s Just Build A Real Track.
- Support Mercy, Inc with the launch of their MercyToday radio broadcast in Salem & their monthly business development group forums (4th Wed of each month), which we have moved from the Salem Evangelical Church to The Collective in Tigard.
- Support Mission ConneXion’s annual Prayer ConneXion conference, as well as coordinating local prayer ministries via our Praying4PDX.org website, wherein we also maintained an ongoing Strategic Event Calendar in regards to all the events taking place in our region (and across the nation) that we are actively praying for and engaged with in some capacity.
- Support Together PDX’s local Pastors’ Prayer Team and their website, MorePrayer.org, which encourages local churches to share an 8 week video prayer course developed by Pete Greig with 24/7 Prayer and to sign up their church to take one day a month to pray for spiritual awakening, as well as helped them to coordinate various prayer vigils and worship gatherings throughout all the racial tensions, peaceful protests and radical riots that took place in our community all year long.
- Utilize the remaining aspects of our small capacity building grant from the Murdock Charitable Trust to feature four strategic gatherings with Dr John Seel to lay the foundation for launching The Marketplace Catalyst, our new initiative for business & community leaders to understand the massive opportunity we have in the northwest to raise up & be people of influence, modern day Josephs, Daniels, Nehemiahs & Queen Esthers, via our new Influence Builder Groups that will engage more seasoned leaders with next generation leaders in strategic content, stories and service projects throughout our community.
- Renewed our strategic partnership with the Christian Emergency Network and began the process of connecting leaders to engage with their ReadyChristian, ReadyChurch & ReadyCity trainings for natural & man-made disasters and emergencies.
