The extent to which a business operates in an ethical manner may well determine the long-term success of the endeavor. Therefore, it may be said that ethical behavior, and a proper understanding of what that constitutes, may be the most import element of leadership of any organization. Ethical behavior is built on a set of moral principles that are the guiding force in all actions. For the business, those moral values begin with the leader, i.e. the owner/president/CEO, who runs the business.
