The Marketplace Catalyst - Business Development Group Forums
This month's Business Development Group Forum features Ken & Teena Starr with HomeComfort USA (in Southern California), Island Comfort (in Hawaii), Air Pro Heating & Cooling (in our PDX region) & Heal Our Land ...

When Ken & Teena Starr started Home Comfort USA, they made a commitment to honor every client and their technicians carry out this promise to bring ethics and integrity to every service.
For many decades, Ken helped other heating and air conditioning companies achieve their goals and boost their profits, and his expertise was sought out by many. But he grew tired of companies, that cared more about their income, than about the people in their community. After working for other contractors, Ken had a series of epiphanies and realized he had a calling to open up a heating and air conditioning company that offered more! So in 2013, he followed in his parents’ footsteps and opened a different kind of HVAC company, Home Comfort USA, which also included a 24/7 prayer room ministry & space for more than 300 prayer warriors, Blessed House of Prayer.
Heating and air conditioning is Ken’s calling, and they only hire technicians with the same dedication to the job. They are a faith-based company, and many of their staff members are involved in community service projects that change the lives of members of their community & around the world! They treat their friends, staff & customers like family. When you work with them, you get more than quality work and excellent customer service. You get technicians and staff members who care.
After a short family vacation to Hawaii, Ken & Teena discovered Kauai and fell in love instantly. They just knew it would be the perfect place to slow down and raise their kids. They had no intentions of starting another business, but their heart was to get involved in their new community and give their family a fresh start away from the hustle and bustle of Southern California. Their heart is to always use their experience and God given abilities to help others and make a difference in the lives of others, so they created Island Comfort (with a 24/7 prayer room ministry as well). What drives them to help is their love for The Father, their goal to bring affordable services with quality and integrity and to give back to the communities that have already given so much to them.
In 2020 (just prior to COVID), they were instructed to move to the Pacific Northwest, purchase a home in Kalama, Washington & a business in Vancouver, Air Pro Heating & Cooling, wherein they are currently remodeling the offices & setting up another 24/7 prayer room ministry! Come & hear their amazing story, as God has blessed them to support Kingdom work around the world (& now here in our region) via their lives, their family & their non-profit organization, Heal Our Land . . .
