The Jesus Experiment Cross Walk - Dessert
Something is happening in our community. It’s not like anything in the past—here or elsewhere!
In the winter of 2012, God sparked a vision in the hearts of two men. A single spark can ignite a firestorm. And a compelling vision can launch a movement. Through networking, conversations, and the hand of God, a dream is growing into an historic moment in Portland’s history.
The Jesus Experiment Cross Walk will take place on Saturday, March 30, 2013, the day before Easter. Our prayer is that God will use this powerful time to spark a revival that will spread from the participants, their churches, families and friends to the city of Portland and beyond.
The Jesus Experiment Cross Walk will involve 3,000 Christians silently carrying 1,000 life-size crosses from the Convention Center, across the Steel Bridge, through downtown streets and into Portland’s living room, Pioneer Courthouse Square. This public reminder of God’s love and Christ’s sacrifice will culminate a spiritual pilgrimage during the Season of Lent in which walkers and other participants will align with Christ by reading and living the Jesus Experiment, my most recent book.
Following the silent walk, participants will gather at the Square for music and speakers. Our desire is not entertainment but an opportunity for our community and nation to know that Christ is alive and moving in the Northwest.
We’re confident God will use this in a powerful way because Jesus promised,“And I, when I am lifted upfrom the earth will draw all people to myself. He said this to show the kind of death he was going to die” (John 12:32-33, NIV).
An Invitation to You!
Of course, bringing this vision to reality will require the help of many friends. With that in mind your invited to join me and some friends for a dessert? I hope will attend and bring your wife and a few friends. We are asking individuals, organizations and businesses to partner with us as God creates this movement. Would you please pray and ask God to direct your involvement? The purpose of the evening is to cast the vision and identify people who will host an in-home dessert where we can cast the vision with even more people.
