Event Description:
Join us for the official launch of the new Portland Prayer Room in downtown Portland. Register here so we know you are coming! The doors will open one hour early (6pm) to share light refreshments, see City Team's new building, and to check out some cool merch!
During the launch, we will share the vision of the Prayer Room and enter into a time of worship and prayer together. We are so excited to have a team from the Called Collective lead worship. You won't want to miss this: invite your congregations, your family, and your friends!
If you would like to volunteer in the on-going rhythms of prayer as a room host, prayer facilitator, artist, or worship leader please contact us to get plugged in.
We are expectant as we pray for our city to be transformed through the presence of God and faithfulness of His people; and we are so grateful for your partnership in Portland.
There will be a short orientation for those interested in volunteering in the prayer room at 5pm with dinner provided. Please put this on your calendar if you would like to volunteer over the next few months.
ONGOING RHYTHMS
Beginning Feb 5th, the public hours will be:
Wednesdays and Thursdays
7:00-8:00 am Guided prayer for the city with scripture
(room host and prayer facilitators)

Noon-2:00 pm Guided prayer walks and open drop-in hours

6:00-10:00 pm Worship and Intercession for the city
(room host, worship leaders and prayer facilitators in 2 hour blocks)

VOLUNTEERS NEEDED
We need trusted leaders to help manage and facilitate our public rhythms of prayer and worship. We are asking for a minimum commitment of once a month during the above hours from Feb - May. The roles needed are listed by the corresponding hours. If you would like to volunteer please fill out THIS form and we will be in touch very soon! HOW TO SIGN UP FOR OTHER TIMES IN THE ROOM
We will be using THIS prayer calendar for individuals, small groups, or church communities who want to use the prayer room outside of the regular public rhythms. A short users manual is being written to provide everything needed for the use of the space and will be sent to those who sign up.
KINTSUGI CLASS IN FEBRUARY
Our friend Charlie will be teaching a Kintsugi class in the Garden Space on Feb 16th (2-6pm) and Feb 17 (6-10pm)! The cost will be $85 and I need a minimum of 8 people to do a class. Please let me know if you want to be a part of this - I am giving a few groups of people first dibs on registering!
The art of Kintsugi embodies new beauty made through imperfections. It’s an artistry of mending broken pieces, symbolically representing how brokenness in our lives can transform to places of beauty and power. Instead of hiding chipped and broken parts,when imperfections are pronounced with the gold, symbolizing the light, you behold something that’s more beautiful. It’s an art form of mending to make new. In this Gather, we’ll have an open time to share personal discovery with each other as we apply Kintsugi to a piece we’ve each brought with us. We’ll share a time of personal reflection and beholding through working with our hands.
FUNDING THE PRAYER ROOM
If you, your church, or others you know would like to give towards funding the prayer room, you may set up monthly donations or give a one time gift HERE. All funds will go through 24-7 Prayer USA and receipts are automatically sent via pushpay. There is a drop down menu with "Portland Prayer Room" available for proper designation.
