Portland Eastside Networking
Heart disease remains the biggest killer of Americans in 2011. Fortunately, there is much that can be done to prevent many heart attacks. One part of a prevention plan is to have a cholesterol screening done. Adventist Health’s Wellness Department provides mobile health screenings for many employers in the area, and will be offering our group a limited number of Cholesterol/HDL and glucose screenings for our networking meeting on July 12, 2011. This free, confidential screening will be available from 7:00AM to around 7:50AM. Ed Hoover, MA, Manager of the Adventist Health Wellness Services program will conduct the health screenings. After the screening, Dr. Audley Williams, will give a brief presentation about the results and provide some tips for your health.
Dr. Audley Williams is a board certified Family Medicine Physician who earned his medical degree at the Loma Linda University School of Medicine in Southern California. He stayed at Loma Linda, where he completed his internship and a combined Family
and Preventive Medicine residency, while also earning a Master’s Degree in Public Health. Dr. Williams believes every visit with a patient should be a learning experience, for both the patient and himself. He aslo appreciates the variety of medical challenges family medicine offers. He particularly enjoys helping others with weight management, overcoming negative health risk behaviors such as cigarette smoking and managing chronic diseases such as high blood pressure, high cholesterol, and diabetes through lifestyle and behavior modification. Dr. Williams is committed to making a difference in the lives of others. He has participated in many volunteer activities, including numerous trips to Mexico, Honduras, Haiti and Zambia on medical missions.
