Portland Eastside Meeting

Our special guest speaker for December is Jan Marshall, Senior Ministry Specialist for the Portland Rescue Mission and will be sharing on "Not so Different as you Think" discussing the commoness of addiction to both genders and all cultures, while offering the solution of full freedom through the oldest means of all . . . . Biblical recovery.
Jan has been in rescue mission ministries since 1970. She is a graduate of Appalachian Bible College and helped found a women’s/children’s facility in Erie, Penn., in 1984, including building and program design, staff development, and fundraising. Jan has served on the board of the Association of Gospel Rescue Missions (national rescue mission association). She worked as a ministry consultant, and joined Portland Rescue Mission in 2000. She served as director of Women’s Ministries, participating in building design, program and staff development of the current Shepherd’s Door ministry center. She is a contributing author in the book Shepherding Women in Pain by Bev Hislop of Western Seminary (chapters on Homelessness and Wounded Healers Reflect God’s Power). Jan now focuses her ministry at Portland Rescue Mission on expanding outreach to women at the Burnside Shelter and nurturing vital relationships with churches, businesses and individual donors.
