Ambassador Young worked with Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. in the civil rights movement. He was elected & served two terms as Mayor of Atlanta, Georgia. He served in Congress as a U.S. Representative from Georgia and was appointed U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations by President Carter. Ambassador Young is currently working to find sustainable solutions to eradicate hunger, malnutrition, lack of education and economic injustice. Portland Business Luncheons believes Mr. Young's visit to Portland, has the potential to encourage new relationships between our city officials, business professionals and citizen activists, resulting in positive, lasting change.
Portland Business Luncheons is a collection of business people who meet together monthly for lunch. Our purpose is to develop relationships within the business community so that we may carry out the greatest commandment: love God and love each other. We meet monthly for lunch and listen to a speaker share their faith story. We also meet in small prayer groups around the city.
