Event Description:
This generation of Christians has a voice and it needs to be heard. Get connected. Join the movement and be heard.

Join with hundreds at the Northwest Impact Summit, a free one day conference for young adults hosted by Oregon Family Council that will feature local and national experts to challenge, train, and equip those in attendance on the issues of life, marriage and family, and First Amendment freedoms. Also, there will be a media training track with experts in the field of communications to provide real world knowledge of how to speak effectively in the public square.
As people of faith we are faced with the daunting task of navigating the complexities of culture, while endeavoring to maintain our relationship with God and with others. The Northwest Impact Summit is a gathering of young adults looking to tackle the most difficult of today’s cultural issues head on. In the public arena this generation needs a voice to speak on issues that affect society like abortion, the push to redefine marriage, and the restrictions of our first amendment rights to free speech and religious freedom. Each of us has a platform of influence and a place for our voice to be heard. Society needs to hear your voice, your views, and your values. You won’t want to miss this empowering event.
Guest Speakers
Maggie Gallagher has been a thought leader on life, religious liberty and especially marriage for the 25 years. She is the author of four books on marriage (including “The Case for Marriage” with University of Chicago Prof. Linda J. Waite); her latest book “Debating Same-sex Marriage” (co-authored with Prof. John Corvino)was published in 2012 by Oxford University Press. After founding and running a think-tank on marriage (the Institute for Marriage and Public Policy), Maggie went on to co-found the National Organization for Marriage in 2007, which the Washington Post called the “pre-eminent organization” fighting the imposition of same-sex marriage. Her Weekly Standard piece “Banned in Boston” launched a national debate over the religious liberty consequences of same-sex marriage. Maggie stepped down from the board of NOM in the summer of 2012; she currently serves as a senior fellow with the American Principles Project.
