Our special guest speaker for May is Joe Gonzalez, a Hood River pastor and director of local ministries at KPDQ radio in Portland. (Listen) Joe is also host of a new talk show, Mars Hill Today, at noon weekdays on KPDQ AM 800. Just as the Apostle Paul confronted the cultural and religious issues of the day on Mars Hill (Acts 17:22), Mars Hill Today is a program that looks into the issues of the day — theological, social, political, and everything in-between. Gonzalez started in radio back in the 1970s with the legendary Wolfman Jack, and gave his life to Christ at age 25 working with a radio station in Palm Springs, Calf. He was ordained in 1978. He has been an evangelist, pastor, conference speaker and TV-radio talk host. Married for 39 years, he has three grown children and four grandchildren. He joined KPDQ a year ago after serving as general manager of “sister stations” in Seattle. He also has served as president of Bridge Broadcasting in Eastern Washington. He has been pastor at Tucker Road Baptist in Hood River for four years.
