Dr. Jay A. Barber, Jr, President of Helping Hands' Board of Directors and President Emeritus of Warner Pacific College in Portland, Oregon, after retiring as President for 12 years. Under Dr Barber's leadership of the institution, the college, for the first time in its history, was debt free, grew from 325 students to more than 1,500 and was in good standing with the accrediting body. In 2008, Barber was appointed the first Senior Fellow with the M.J. Murdock Charitable Trust, Vancouver, WA. Jay was then elected to the Seaside City Council and appointed to fill out the unexpired term as Mayor of Seaside upon the death of long-time Mayor Don Larson, he was recently elected for a full 4-year term.
