Eugene/Springfield Luncheon
Our special guest speaker for October is Sheryl Balthrop of Gaydos, Churnside & Balthrop, P.C. sharing about the "7 Practical Steps to Protect Your Business or Organization". Sheryl is an experienced transactional and trial attorney and arbitrator. Her practice emphasizes family, employment, construction and business law. She has successfully represented clients before agency, state and federal tribunals since 1991. She has negotiated scores of win-win resolutions in significant commercial and family matters, allowing for continued beneficial relationships. She is dedicated to superior client representation and service.
Sheryl obtained her juris doctor from the University of Oregon School of Law in 1991 and joined the firm the same year. She is a member of the family law, construction law and employment law sections of the Oregon State Bar and Lane County Bar Association. She has written and spoken on a number of topics, including business transactions and entities, employment matters, construction, and collection. She is a former hearings officer and trial seminar instructor. She is a member of the Eugene Area Chamber of Commerce and Lane County Home Builders Association. She is active in her church, her children's school and athletic events, and serves as pro bono legal counsel to ShelterCare, a local nonprofit agency. Sher is a native Oregonian, raised on a cattle ranch in Eastern Oregon. She is married with four children. She enjoys time with her family, books and endurance sports. She has completed Ironman triathlons in Australia and Canada.
