Compassion To Action 2024
We wanted to share with you a very important update on Compassion to Action 2024, an update and pivot. We have run into some unexpected situations that have caused us to pivot. Before I share with you the exciting news, I want to encourage you to read this passage below that talks about how Paul and Silas also had to pivot from their original plans and how God was in the Pivot.
"Next Paul and Silas traveled through the area of Phrygia and Galatia, because the Holy Spirit had prevented them from preaching the word in the province of Asia at that time. Then coming to the borders of Mysia, they headed north for the province of Bithynia, but again the Spirit of Jesus did not allow them to go there. So instead, they went on through Mysia to the seaport of Troas. That night Paul had a vision: A man from Macedonia in northern Greece was standing there, pleading with him, “Come over to Macedonia and help us!” So we decided to leave for Macedonia at once, having concluded that God was calling us to preach the Good News there." Acts 16:6-10 (NLT)
Just like Paul and Silas, we were actively casting vision for Compassion to Action 2024 to be hosted at the Oregon Convention Center, but it became very clear that we needed to pivot. Concluding that God has shut one door at the Oregon Convention Center, until further notice, but has opened a new door that involves the church becoming mobile in worship and evangelism across the greater Portland area.
Join us on Fri, Aug 30th at 10am and/or 4pm, as believers from all over the Northwest and beyond unite together to flood the streets of Portland and surrounding cities with worship and evangelism to reach the lost with the love and compassion of Jesus.
If you love to worship Jesus with your voice and/or instruments, we would love to have you sign up to do worship on the streets! You don't have to be a worship leader at a church to sign up and maybe this is your first time going out on the streets to reach the lost. We want to invite everyone to come out and flood cities with the love and compassion of Jesus. There will be a short training video and instructions for you to watch and pair up with others at your meeting location before you are sent out on the streets.
Sign up HERE to join us and meet at 1 of our 12 Partnering Church/Ministry Hubs for outreaches that will take place in 12 Zones throughout the greater Portland/Vancouver metro area on Fri, Aug 30th at 10:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. You can come to one or both!
Then join us on Sat, Aug 31st at Portland's Pioneer Square for a fun celebration, to show the love and compassion of Jesus to a hurting world, to worship together and share the Good News of Jesus to all who attend. There will also be big giveaways and chances to win a car! Register for the Celebration at Portland's Pioneer Square
Thousands of FREE tickets will be disbursed to people out on the streets by those joining Flood Portland on Fri, Aug 30th to invite the public to register for Portland Pioneer Square on Sat, Aug 31st. Pray with us that many will encounter the love of Jesus and receive salvation, healing and deliverance out on the streets and at Pioneer Courthouse Square!
