Event Description:

The 11th Annual Clark County Mayors' & Civic Leaders' Prayer Breakfast event is sponsored by the Clark County Chapters of Full Gospel Business Men's Fellowship in America and is administered by an all volunteer committee of Civic and Business leaders who are dedicated to insure the success of the program,  This event is a time to honor and thank those who serve our communities in Clark County as well as pray for their safety. Each year a mayor in Clark County is selected to be the Host Mayor with all the other Mayors being invited as honored guests. Also, other honored guests are Civic Leaders, elected officials as well as those in uniform including firemen, law enforcement, and the armed forces.

This year's keynote speaker is Linda Smith. After establishing herself as a successful tax consultant in Washington, Linda entered state politics and served in the state legislature for 11 years. Then, in 1994, an unusual write-in campaign sent her to the U.S. Congress, House of Representatives. While still serving in Congress, Linda traveled to Mumbai, India where she witnessed the horrors of sex slavery. Her heart was broken for its victims and felt God was leading her to minister to them, so in 1998 after completing two terms in Congress, she founded Shared Hope International. The organization began as a movement to provide safety and shelter to victims of sex trafficking internationally, and has since come to address the severe issue of sex trafficking in our own country through education and public awareness. Also, she has been working to have laws changed to bring justice and has worked to increase access to shelter and services.

This year's testimonial speaker is Dr Greg Romine.  As a young man, Greg found himself locked in a Tacoma jail for the illegal sale of narcotics and was facing 20 years of imprisonment. Greg will reveal in his talk what happened next that was life changing! After receiving only two years of probation and a $200 fine, Greg has gone on to a life-long career as a trainer and teacher having worked full-time in the Philippines and Hong Kong. He and his wife, Cyndi have traveled the world sharing the message of God’s mighty power and deliverance on six continents and 60 countries over the last 35 years. And more recently, they are working to save children through their organization – “Called to Rescue
”.
