Christian Chamber - Vancouver "Lunch & Learn"

  • Share:
Name: Christian Chamber - Vancouver "Lunch & Learn"
Date: January 15, 2015
Time: 11:30 AM - 1:15 PM PST
Registration: Sorry, public registration for this event has been closed.
Event Description:
Lee is privileged to have an amazing wife, 4 lively kids, a great family, a vibrant church, dear friends, and the opportunity to work in broadcasting. God led Mike through various (often bizarre) moves even before his days at WMCA and WWDJ in New York, which eventually prepared him to become Director of Local Ministries at KPDQ, The Fish, and El Rey. Raised in the church by good parents, Mike was blessed to come to own his own faith after God saw him through a season of questions and struggles. Experience with a variety of ministries has revealed that either we tell people to be more like ourselves, or we encourage them to be more like Christ. May the examples set by our Difference Makers always point back to God. - See more at: http://www.truetalk800.com/LocalHosts/1200#sthash.sSnD4NTl.dpuf

Pat Johnson, Founder & Executive Director of Ministry 911, which started in 1986 in Woodland Washington, with the original name of, Southwest Washington Church Network Services, under a board composed of local pastors. SWCNS partnered with community resources, law enforcement and medical services, as well as local businesses, organizations, church ministries and social services in three counties with unprecedented community cooperation and participation.  Eventually, the ministry came to the attention of World Vision, a Christian international disaster and relief organization. Mrs. Johnson was invited to join the World Vision staff to further develop and propagate the ministry throughout the US, under the new name of “Love INC”.  The entire Johnson family moved to Los Angles in 1989. Love INC grew to 104 affiliates in the United States and 60+ more in Canada, Australia, and New Zealand.  After Love INC had become self-sustaining, the Johnson's returned to the Northwest, where Mrs. Johnson developed ministry outreach models, with Mission Portland, and other organizations.  In 2000, Ministry 911 was developed, to assist individuals, churches, ministries and other help organizations.  In 2009, U.S. Digital Outreach Center in Vancouver, Washington, graciously invited Ministry 911 to have office space and many related amenities in their facility.  Since that time, Ministry 911 has provided faith-based, non-profit organizations with services to help in development, consultation and replication; Biblical life-coaching, plus training, education and consultation in business and ministry entrepreneurship.

Larry Whittlesey is a longtime pastor and community organizer in the Northwest.  He has helped lead numerous ministry efforts, outreach events, pastor networks and volunteer efforts.  For 5 years, Larry served as a National Event Director for Promise Keepers, orchestrating large men’s conferences in arenas like the Rose Garden all over the country.  Most recently he has been serving as the Executive Director of the
School Partnership Network  (SPN), an initiative of the Luis Palau Association’s City Serve (formerly "Season of Service").  Since it started in March 2012, SPN has worked to cultivate meaningful and sustainable partnerships between local faith communities and area public schools.  As of November 2013, they have been able to document such partnerships in 250 of the 471 schools in the greater metro area  (29 School Districts).  Currently, Larry is also the Executive Director of National Mission Advancement for the YMCA.  While his ongoing role at the Palau Association and SPN is still be determined,  Larry will be working to help restore the "C"  in YMCA across the nation.  He will be do this by leading national and regional conferences, incorporating YMCA's rich Christian heritage into the regular program of local Y's, and working to train YMCA staff and leadership nationwide, including  a growing representation of chaplains.  Larry has been married to his wife, Chris, for 37 years and has 3 grown children and 7 grandchildren.  Larry and Chris live in the Parkrose area of Portland, near Crossroads Church, where he served as a pastor for a number of years.
