Event Description:
Our special guest speaker for June is Shawn Abbey of Abbey Carpet Care, recognized as the 2009 Small Business of the Year by the Salem Area Chamber of Commerce. Shawn has always been a hard worker, and self-starter, even as a youth. He served as Corban University’s Director of Admissions for several years following his graduation 20+ years ago. Today, besides contracting to clean Corban’s carpets, Abbey shows support for the College by hiring Corban students and graduates as they “use us as a stepping stone to launch their careers,” he said. “We’re always ready to hire Corban students,” he expressed. “They always have integrity, reliability and a Spirit-filled life. They’re the ones who are glorifying God out in the community.”
Shawn and his wife, Corbin University graduate Sharon (Roden) Abbey, have four children. He is an active member of Salem Heights Church, and has played guitar for the worship team. He’s an outdoor enthusiast, happy in the Northwest. He is also active in the Salem Chamber of Commerce and the community, serving as Greeters Chair, and as chair of the Chamber’s Ambassadors, a structured-volunteer program responsible for event coordination. He has received the Ambassador of the Quarter Award and served as President of the PGE Festival of Lights Holiday Parade.
This meeting is designed to help you build your network, wherein you will be invited to introduce yourself & your organization during the meeting, as well as meet with other guests & members before & after the meeting. There will also be a short presentation regarding the Chamber, as well as a special guest speaker in regards to a topic designed to help you Connect, Learn, Grow, Save &/or Engage with your community.

We are meeting at the Broadway Commons located at 1300 Broadway NE, Salem, OR 97301.
Date/Time Information:
Check in starts at 7:15am, followed by connecting until 7:45am. Then we ask everyone to introduce themselves, followed by a short presentation about the Christian Chamber, wherein we then have our featured speaker from 8:15am-8:45am, followed by a few announcements and connecting until 9am.

There is a $5 Suggested Donation for Guests & Expired Members. Members must RSVP in order to register at no charge. Members may also invite Guests, wherein the Suggested Donation for their Guest is $5 per person.
