Event Description:
Do you know how to protect your employees and customers from child abuse? Come and learn how to recognize, prevent and help someone avoid or heal from child abuse.
Our special guest speaker for June is Alison Kelley a lawyer and CEO with Liberty House, a child abuse assessment center in Salem, providing one central venue for forensic interviews, medical check-ups, and family support from experts.
With a staff of 20 including two pediatricians, three child forensic interviewers, a part-time physician’s assistant, a psychologist, and a support team, Liberty House provides about 400 full assessments and hundreds of other consultations each year. Liberty House also provides prevention training and education for community organizations, annually reaching out to numerous groups and over 5,000 local high school students. Liberty House is a member of the Oregon Network of Child Abuse and Intervention Centers and the National Children’s Alliance. Liberty House is the only assessment center serving Marion County, one of two centers serving Polk County, and assists in coordinating the multidisciplinary child abuse response in the local area.
