Name: Christian Chamber - Salem/Keizer Meeting
Date: May 27, 2015
Time: 7:30 AM - 9:00 AM PDT
Registration: Sorry, public registration for this event has been closed.
Event Description:

Our speaker this month is Sam Skillern, the executive director at the Salem Leadership Foundation.   Sam will discuss some of the success stories of community partnerships between businesses, government institutions, and our faith based organizations here in Salem.  He will also discuss the need for further partnerships, and ways that the business community can further contribute to the improvement of the Salem Keizer community.  A long time member of the Salem Keizer Community, Sam is passionate about bridge building between different parts of our community.

Sam  grew up in Salem, and graduated from South Salem High School in 1977.  He went on to graduate from Oregon State University, before he and his wife Jennifer made their home in Salem.  Sam and Jennifer have been investing in the community for decades, and have raised two impressive young men: Samuel who is a student at Seattle Pacific University, and Andrew, who is a student at North Salem High School.

Sam became the first executive director of the Salem Leadership Foundation in October of 1996.  He has been in that role ever since, guiding SLF as SLF works to build bridges between people of faith and people of goodwill in an effort to tackle the social, economic, and spiritual challenges that confront the Salem-Keizer community.  During the time that Sam has been in this role, great strides have been made in involving the faith community in the real world challenges that confront the community.
