Our special guest speaker for October is Barbara Hewitt, who will share with us several coaching techniques that will help you support your fellow co-workers, friends and family. Barbara has worked in the field of serving and supporting people for over 30 years. She worked for the West Linn School District for 20 years in special education. Prior to working in schools, she has practiced and is licensed in Cosmetology. Barbara has continued her journey working with people as a Certified Life Coach and she secured her certification from New Vibe Training, under the instruction of Carl Casanova, MS/Director.
While working as a licensed SLPA, (Speech, Language, Pathology, Assistant) at Willamette Primary School, Barbara spent years of ongoing education to continue learning the different learning styles of children and adults. Honing her skills with children on the Autism Spectrum, OCD, ADHD, OD, Bipolar Disorder, Processing Disorder and many other afflictions that affect these children and their families.
God has put Barbara in situations she never considered possible. She has been a guest presenter at churches helping to reach people with her story of being in “the abyss” and how she trusted and kept her faith. Currently Barbara coaches men, women, children, teens, couples, and families move forward in their lives, many of which have addiction and/or mental health issues.
Barbara will share her personal struggles and celebrations raising a daughter with Obsessive Compulsive Disorder. (OCD) In her deepest times over the past twenty plus years Barbara will tell you, “Without Jesus Christ in my life and the power of prayer I don’t know how I would have continue on?” “I have learned to reach beyond what I ever thought I was capable of doing and to share with others how they also can be that light in someone’s life!”
