Event Description:
Have you ever felt that the majority of what you do during the week has little or no value to God? Do you feel that your work is disconnected from the Kingdom and that perhaps you need to make a change in what you do to “really serve God”? Do you sometimes feel like a “second-class Christian” when you compare your life to that of your pastor, or an evangelist or missionary?
This need not be! Many in the modern church have missed the true meaning of Vocation or Calling. Come and hear how your passions, skills and knowledge are actually given to you by God to be used right now, right where you find yourself. It’s time to understand you are called to your work, just like the paid vocational ministers such as pastors and missionaries. You don’t need to quit what you are doing to “really serve God”!
In the process, hear of how one person is utilizing this understanding of Vocation as he builds a new business administration program at Multnomah University. See how students are learning to be Kingdom focused ministers of the Word, intentionally reaching into the marketplace to build the Kingdom by utilizing their passion, and talents for business in the world of business.

Our special guest speaker is Lee Sellers, Chair of Multnomah University - Business Program. Lee Sellers, who holds an MBA, has a broad background spanning business, academia and non-profit environments, and he has created, developed and grown several businesses. In addition to teaching at two colleges and two universities, he has owned and operated his own consulting business for more than 14 years. He focused on leadership, organizational behavior and ethics while earning his MBA. His teaching experience includes positions at George Fox University, Eastern Oregon University, Clark College and Mount Hood Community College. He also spent more than 26 years volunteering at various nonprofit organizations, including the American Red Cross and Big Brothers Big Sisters.
