Christian Chamber - Newberg Meeting
Our special guest speaker for October is Rick Rogers, Executive Director of the Newberg Area - Habitat for Humanity, a Christian ministry and one of the largest homebuilders in America. Rick has nearly 20 years of non-profit experience in the fields of overseas development, small business development, public health, transitional housing for the homeless and self-help housing. That work experience has taken place in Arizona, Brazil, Hawaii, New Hampshire and West Africa. He also has been involved in journalism and banking. He moved to Newberg in 1999 and joined the Newberg Area Habitat for Humanity a year later. Rick also works as a consultant for other area non-profits, principally in accounting and grants management. Additionally, he serves on two Newberg city government committees and is head coach of a local high school boys rugby team. Rick's wife Lisa is with CASA of Oregon, a statewide developer of farmworker housing and they have three sons.
