What can happen when the resources and energies of churches within a community are coordinated to effectively meet a wide range of needs?
Our special guest speaker is Jodi Hansen, Executive Director of the Newberg affiliate of the national movement Love INC (Love in the Name of Christ). Jodi will outline how her agency mobilizes local churches to transform lives and the community. Hansen describes herself as “an energetic, suburban, middle-aged mom and wife who loves Jesus and Newberg.” She previously served as one of the associate pastors at 2nd Street Community Church in Newberg.
Jodi earned a Master of Arts in Ministry Leadership from George Fox Evangelical Seminary and is a licensed minister in the Northwest Yearly Meeting of Friends. She spends her Wednesday evenings at Coffee Creek Correctional Facility in Wilsonville, where she ministers to incarcerated women. She also mentors women transitioning back into life on the outside after serving their time. A bold and enthusiastic student of church history and missional movements, Hansen says she strives to be a “disorienting and inspiring voice in conversation with the evangelical status quo” as she repeatedly asks, “How can we become a sent people who also gather, versus a gathered people too busy in church to be sent into a hurting world?”
This meeting is designed to help you build your network, wherein you will be invited to introduce yourself & your organization during the meeting, as well as meet with other guests & members before & after the meeting. There will also be a short presentation regarding the Chamber, as well as a special guest speaker or engaging discussion in regards to a topic designed to help you Connect, Learn, Grow, Save &/or Engage with your community.
