What resources are available for small business through the Oregon state government? Where does a business owner begin when dealing with Salem? How does one cut through the “red tape”?
Serving in the new position of Small Business Advocate in the office of Oregon Secretary of State Jeanne Atkins, our special guest speaker, Ruth Miles will answer such questions. Miles works collaboratively with entrepreneurs and state agencies to help streamline and improve Oregon’s business climate. She brings a combination of public and private sector experience to her work in the State Capitol. With 18 years experience running small businesses, Miles says she understands first-hand the challenges entrepreneurs face. She assumed her current post after nine years in the legislative branch, where she helped constituents navigate the shifting waters and complexities of state government.This meeting is designed to help you build your network, wherein you will be invited to introduce yourself & your organization during the meeting, as well as meet with other guests & members before & after the meeting. There will also be a short presentation regarding the Chamber, as well as a special guest speaker or engaging discussion in regards to a topic designed to help you Connect, Learn, Grow, Save &/or Engage with your community. After the meeting, we will pray for any pain in your body or business & let the Holy Spirit minister healing & restoration.
