Event Description:
Our special guest speaker is Tony Frazier CEO of Incite Inc., a Salem-based company that helps employers find solutions to their workforce challenges and by helping people achieve the skills necessary to engage in today’s workplace. As a graduate in finance of Corban University in Salem, Frazier’s career path led him to construction project management. Along the way he developed a deep desire to find greater meaning through his work. He decided to switch from the private sector to the nonprofit world to work with young people who had dropped out of high school, teaching them construction trade skills in a program called YouthBuild. Prior to coming to Incite, Frazier was Executive Director of Habitat for Humanity of the Mid-Willamette Valley in Salem, where he started a construction skills training program for youth.
Frazier believes a highlight of his career was when he took a leave of absence in August 2006 and relocated his family to Gulfport, Miss., to become the “YouthBuild Katrina Rebuild” construction project manager. This was a one-year AmeriCorps-funded project that brought YouthBuild participants from around the nation to help low-income families rebuild after the storm. Frazier’s passion to serve the community through workforce development is driven by the notion that the greatest solution to the challenges society faces today – is a good job.
This meeting is designed to help you build your network, wherein you will be invited to introduce yourself & your organization during the meeting, as well as meet with other guests & members before & after the meeting. There will also be a short presentation regarding the Chamber, as well as a special guest speaker or engaging discussion in regards to a topic designed to help you Connect, Learn, Grow, Save &/or Engage with your community.
