What is the future of Retail in America? How has online sales impacted the small brick and mortar stores? Have we seen the last of CD’s, DVD’s, Books & tons of other "Faith" products? Is joining the online market cost effective? Are Bibles declining in our information age with all the new technology?
Our special guest speaker is Kevin Ferguson, the new co-owner of the Willamette Valley Christian Supply and he knows that the brick and mortar retail experience is changing drastically, but he also believes that God is far bigger than any technological challenge (the easy access to downloads, online purchases and the magnitude of Amazon). With that said, he also believes there are several principles that can aid small businesses in a declining retail marketplace. Some of those businesses that can be directly impacted are merchant services, publishers, gift companies, advertising agencies, as well as landlords, plus many more. Join us as we unpack several Biblical principles that can help us move forward with a deep abiding trust in the Sovereign God who never veers from His plan and purpose.
Kevin & his wife, Krista, see Willamette Valley Christian Supply as both an important business in the community and also as a ministry. As Kevin puts it clearly: "We exist for the purpose of connecting people—churches and individuals—with ministry resources that can help meet their needs, that they might grow and know Christ." Both Kevin and Krista have seen the impact of a Christian bookstore on the life of the community, and want to respond to the clear call of that community to keep these resources available for the Willamette Valley. They have four children: Kirstie (16), Hannah (14), Caleb (12) and Joshua (5). Kevin graduated from Multnomah Biblical Seminary with a Master of Arts with a specialty in Family Ministry and served as a youth and family pastor at the First Baptist Church in La Pine, OR for seven years and the First Baptist Church in Corvallis for 7 years.
