Event Description:
What if you built your organization on a foundation of Trust? Profitability has more to do with trust than most people may think. Lack of trust in leadership and among co-workers is the number one reason teams fail to be productive and effective. Trust cannot be instilled - it must be given or gained, and it starts with taking responsibility for and acknowledging personal and professional constraints.

Our special guest speaker is one of our Founders, Marley Brown with FSH Strategy Consultants, Inc., which is comprised of Transformational Leadership Training, the FSH Strategy Consultants division and the charitable FSH Foundation. Marley is currently serving as a CFO Consultant and Resource Development for onboarding of new TL Consultants. She is also a Principle and Advisor to Realvation, a start-up real estate software company, serving as Chief Financial Officer. Marley also teaches upper division level accounting and finance courses at Portland State University in both their undergraduate and graduate programs and assists other universities and NGO’s with curriculum development.
Prior to joining the FSH Team, Marley brought her passion to help others to the corporate world and the classroom by integrating her consulting practice with her university teaching. She has developed workshops and consulted with companies and individuals throughout Europe and the United States, assisting them in using internal financial information to improve decision making and track goal performance. She was the Lead Consultant helping a large international manufacturing company, FMC, Inc. at multiple locations in the U.S and Europe. She also developed workshops for business leaders in Russia, enabling them to learn business decision making as they were converting to a free market economy.
Marley left academia multiple times to assist companies with aggressive growth goals. She served as the Chief Financial Officer for two high tech companies, assisted both in achieving liquidity events by helping Timberline Systems with an IPO (20 times return to founders) and Graphic Software Systems with a merger. She also founded Real Goodies, a wholesale distribution company, purchased a competitor and sold the merged company.
Marley started her career at a prestigious Big Four accounting firm (Peat Marwick Mitchell now KPMG) where she served clients ranging from publicly held manufacturing companies (Munsingwear, Cargile, Land ‘O Lakes, Tonka) to non-profits and municipalities. Her transition to the academy enabled her to continue serving clients as a Consultant while teaching undergraduate and graduate Accounting, Finance, and Global Awareness at Washington State University, the University of Montana, George Fox University, Portland State University and overseas in Russia, Australia, France, Italy and China.
Marley has over 35 years of experience demonstrating effective leadership, financial acumen, strategic planning and building value through organic growth, mergers and acquisitions and global expansion. She has a history of building high performing teams and creating a culture of trust and empowerment. Marley is known for her passion and enthusiasm to connect and build relationships. She is a dynamic, self-motivated servant with a proven record of financial management and operational responsibility, who cares as much about people as she does about positive cash flows. Marley is a CPA with an undergraduate degree in Accounting from Moorhead State University and a MBA from the University of Montana.
Marley and her husband Jack have been married for 31 years and are the proud parents of a daughter and son-in-law who have brought them two precious grandsons who exhibit never ending energy and imagination.
