Join us for an interactive discussion on the topic of Work, Community, and Stewardship: Developing Biblically-Centered Metrics that Matter. Whether this is a topic you've been wrestling with or one that you aspire to navigate with excellence continuing this is an important conversation for marketplace leaders. Your voice is valued.
This topic has been a priority at the Hoff School of Business at Corban University. Wrestling with biblical worldview of business looks like and, with that, examining Christian work through this lens is very much one our speaker, Professor Shawn Hussey, is passionate about. This conversation will explore and demonstrate what this could look like from a benchmarking standpoint for Christian business owners, which expands beyond just financial metrics.
Shawn Hussey is an educator, entrepreneur, and management consultant who cares deeply about small business. His educational background includes a bachelor’s degree in Management and Communication from Corban University, an MBA and a Ph.D. in Organization and Management from Capella University.
As a US Marine, he served under two presidents (Clinton/Bush) as a security supervisor for Marine One (the presidential helicopter). After working in leadership positions within the private sector for some of the world's largest companies (IBM, Merrill Lynch, Wachovia Securities, and T-Mobile to name a few), he turned his attention to the education field. He currently serves as an Assistant Professor of Business, Director of Online Business Programs within the Hoff School of Business, and Director of Innovative Initiatives at Corban University. In the classroom he specializes in entrepreneurship, leadership, and strategy. He has been married to his wife, Angie, since 1998 and they reside in Salem, OR with their four children. In his spare time, Shawn enjoys distance running, training for marathons, CrossFit, and Jiu-Jitsu.
