“Each of you should use whatever gift you have received to serve others, as faithful stewards of God’s grace in its various forms.” (1 Peter 4:10)  How are you using your gifts to help others and make a difference?



Our special guest speakers for April are Tina Barthlow & Jon Chesbro, Financial Associates at Thrivent Financial. Their presentation will focus on why and how Thrivent Financial helps its members multiply their personal gifts to strengthen their communities. Thrivent Financial is a national, not-for profit, membership-owned organization of Christians. They believe everything is a gift from God and generosity is an expression of faith. Because of this, for more than a century they’ve helped nearly 2.4 million member-owners make wise money choices that reflect their values and provided volunteer opportunities to share their time and talent where they live, work and worship.

Tina has been living out her faith as a Thrivent representative for more than seven years, blending her psychology education and project management experience to help members through difficult financial decisions. When not working, she is frequently participating in Westminster Presbyterian Church activities, working on a never-ending list of house projects or attending Oregon Duck sporting events with her husband.

Long before choosing to work for Thrivent as a Financial Associate, Jon was a Thrivent member and an active participant in Thrivent activities.  He has a Master’s degree in economics from the University of Montana and spent 10 years working as an economist in Texas before going back to Montana to teach economics and finance at Montana Tech.  He and his family moved to Eugene at the start of 2013 and he now serves the Christian community through his role at Thrivent Financial.

Date/Time Information:
Check in starts at 11:30am, followed by connecting until 11:50am, wherein lunch will be served at 12noon.  Then after a short presentation about the Christian Chamber, we ask everyone to introduce themselves, wherein we then have our featured speaker from 12:15pm-12:45pm, followed by a few announcements and connecting until 1pm.

Fees/Admission:
The RSVP meal charge is $15 for Guests, Expired Members.  The Non-RSVP meal charge is $20 at the Door.  Members must RSVP in order to register at no charge.  Members may also invite Guests, wherein if they RSVP, the meal charge is only $15 per person.  If they do not RSVP for their Guest, the meal charge for their Guest is $20 per person.
