BESThq - STEAM Minecraft
Current & Next Gen STEAM Pros!
Engage Your Kids in Building Minds, Relationships & Opportunities
Minecraft is a popular virtual computer program game that allows the user to build and design worlds using blocks while collaborating with other users on a server.
This program aids in the introduction of next generation individuals to the Science Technology Engineering Arts & Mathematics (STEAM) industry.
BESThq community’s STEAM professionals and friends are joining participants in a day of fun and learning. No background in STEAM or Minecraft is needed.
Our STEAM Pathways Center intentionally intersects Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts & Math (STEAM) current and next gen professionals for real-world impact. Our Vision includes attracting like-minded orgs to ignite and inspire next gen STEAM pros while providing a clear pathway for their success.
We believe this pathway must include all elements of our communities (ie. for-profit, government, non-profit, and schools). Our Center connects and builds these pathways via:
- Dedicated on-site and virtual programs and workshops (ages 5 – 50+, all are welcome)
- Convenient west side location near Beaverton Main Post Office, MAX and mass transit
- Workstations with state of the art software and online resources
- Collaborative workspace with technical support available and drop-in programs, camps and classes
- Connection to youth STEM / STEAM programs like Minecraft, Legorobotics, MATE, Rockets and more
- Clearinghouse and access to partners and resources for innovation & opportunity
This program creates a collaborative setting with a small group of students from different backgrounds to increase creativity, critical thinking, and problem solving skills, and to introduce the concept of computer science and other STEAM professions as a possible career.
All are welcome, family friendly! Those under 18 MUST be accompanied by an adult and may be photographed.
